2020 Christmas stockings.
Linda Hannawalt from San Francisco Quilt Shop worked with Friends of Mexico and our team of volunteers to sew Christmas stockings for the children at Amigos de Mexico Primary and Renato Vega Primary Schools. The sewing team created fun pillowcases, and we also stuffed them with reading books, coloring books, crayons, pencils, candy, small toys, small toiletry items such as toothbrushes, and toothpaste. With the schools closed, children were pleased to get a special gift for Christmas.

Sometimes the primary schools we support invite us to attend their celebrations of national holidays. The director speaks to everyone about the significance of the day and the children wear traditional dress to suit the occasion.
