Friends of Mexico is pleased to be able to offer scholarships to children from poor areas of the city of Mazatlán.
When children graduate from primary school, they are able to apply, with a teacher’s recommendation, for the $3000 pesos award. Their average mark must be 85% or better and this mark has to be maintained in order to continue to qualify.
- Our focus is to support students in high school, but if we can, we try to keep them in the program through university as well.
- In 2021, there are 50 students in the scholarship program. All of these students have a sponsor from Canada and the US, both members and non-members, most of whom visit Mazatlan annually.
We usually have a wait list of applicants, so please consider sponsoring a child this year.
